Grand Park Lara in Antalya - A Complete Review

After looking at many different places in Europe for a holiday in March, we finally decided on Turkey. We chose Antalya in Turkey because we wanted to explore the region’s ancient buildings and ruins. With its rich history and beautiful coastline, it seemed like the perfect mix of culture and relaxation.

Antalya is a city on Turkey’s southern coast, along the Mediterranean Sea. It is one of the country’s most popular holiday destinations, known for its beautiful beaches, turquoise waters and historic sites. The city is home to ancient ruins, stunning waterfalls and a charming old town with cobbled streets and historic buildings. One of the tour guides we met during our holiday mentioned that Antalya is often called the 'tourism capital of Turkey' because it is one of the most visited destinations in the country, attracting millions of tourists every year.

Finding the right hotel in Antalya was not easy because it has so many resorts and hotels - more than 2000 (according to another tour guide we met). It was difficult to make a choice but after reading lots of reviews, we picked Grand Park Lara. One of the deciding factors was the hotel's excellent dining options, especially for vegetarians. Many guests had praised the variety of food and that was an important factor to us. It turned out to be a great choice!

Arrival experience and check-in process at Grand Park Lara

When we arrived at Grand Park Lara, the first thing we noticed was how big and lively the hotel was. The entrance was modern and there were lots of guests coming and going. Even with so many people around, everything felt well-organised. The staff at the front desk greeted us with a smile, which made us feel welcome right away.

The lobby had a bright and modern feel, with plenty of seating areas. It was clear from the start that this was a well-run hotel with good service.

The check-in process was quick and easy. We were given two key cards, two towel cards, a leaflet with all the important information, including the opening times of the restaurants and bars and a map with the layout of the hotel. The staff were friendly and happy to answer any questions.

Accommodation & Rooms

Grand Park Lara offers different types of rooms to suit all kinds of travellers. You can choose from Standard Rooms, Family Room Deluxe, Family Room Elite and Accessible Rooms. The family rooms provide extra space, making them ideal for those travelling with children. All rooms come with modern amenities to ensure a comfortable stay.

We stayed in a Standard Room on the 9th floor, which was also the top floor. Our room had a pool view and included all the essentials—twin bed, tea and coffee-making facilities, TV, WiFi, mini bar, hairdryer, digital safe box and air conditioning. The room was compact but perfect for our needs since we spent most of our time exploring and only needed a comfortable place to rest.

Housekeeping was done daily, keeping the room clean and fresh. The beds were made, towels were replaced as needed, and tea, coffee and bottled water were replenished each day. It was nice to return to a tidy and well-stocked room after a day out.

One of the main reasons we chose Grand Park Lara was its great reviews for vegetarian food, and the hotel did not disappoint. There was plenty of variety, with delicious Turkish and international vegetarian dishes available at every meal. We never struggled to find tasty options, making our dining experience even more enjoyable.

Dining Area

The Tulip Bistro usually provides late breakfast, dinner, and 24-hour food service, but it was closed during our visit. It would have been great to have this option, especially for late-night snacks. The hotel also has an à la carte restaurant, Peppermint, which serves international dishes in a stylish setting. This restaurant is not part of the all-inclusive package and a reservation and extra fee are required.

For drinks, the hotel has three bars—Grande Lobby Bar, Holyhock Pub Bar and Classe Lobby Bar

We mostly enjoyed our drinks at the Grande Lobby Bar, which was a great place to relax. It serves a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, which you can enjoy in the lobby or by the poolside. It had a nice atmosphere and we loved unwinding there after a day of exploring.

Cocktails

The restaurant staff at Grand Park Lara were exceptional. Managing such a large number of guests is not easy, but they handled it effortlessly during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tables were cleared quickly, and staff regularly checked on guests, offering drinks and making sure everyone had what they needed. They were always attentive and efficient, keeping a watchful eye to ensure no guest was left waiting. The entire team provided fantastic service, making our dining experience even more enjoyable.

Location & Accessibility

Grand Park Lara has a private sandy beach just a short walk from the hotel. There is also a snack bar for drinks and light bites, making it easy to relax by the sea. A lifeguard is on-site, ensuring safety for everyone.

The hotel is not far from Antalya’s Old Town (Kaleiçi). It takes around 20 minutes by taxi and about 40 minutes by bus. We loved exploring the narrow cobbled streets filled with small shops, where we found souvenirs and local crafts. The harbour area was a great place to relax and enjoy the views. We also visited a local park and admired the historic minarets that add to the charm of the Old Town.

Another highlight was the visit to Lower Düden Falls, a stunning waterfall that cascades directly into the sea.

From the hotel, it is also easy to visit Aspendos, famous for its well-preserved Roman theater, which is still used for performances today. You can take a taxi, rent a car or join a guided tour, with many offering hotel pickup.

Another nearby historical site is Perge, an ancient city known for its impressive ruins, including a stadium and Roman baths.

We also booked paragliding and white-water rafting tours, both of which included pick-up and drop-off from the hotel. Overall, we found the hotel’s location to be excellent, as everything we wanted to see and do was within a reasonable travel distance.

Overall Experience at Grand Park Lara

What we loved most about Grand Park Lara was the amazing service from all the staff. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and always ready to help. The hotel had a warm and inviting vibe, making us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The food was another highlight, with a fantastic variety and plenty of vegetarian options. Every meal was delicious and we enjoyed trying different Turkish and international dishes.

If there was one thing that could be improved, it would be adding a shuttle service from the airport. Considering how many tourists visit the hotel every day, having a convenient airport transfer would make arrivals and departures even smoother. While taxis and other transport options are available, a hotel-run shuttle service would be a great addition, we feel.

Would we recommend Grand Park Lara? Absolutely! The service, food, facilities and overall experience made our stay truly enjoyable. It offers great value for money and you can be sure you will be well taken care of throughout your stay. If you are looking for a comfortable and lively hotel in Antalya, this is a fantastic choice.
