We recently stayed at the Grand Hotel Birmingham to experience their Valentine’s Day special package and it was wonderful from start to finish.

After a quick check-in, we made our way to our room and this elegant Valentine's Day surprise (pictured below) was waiting for us, making our stay feel extra special.

The beautifully arranged setup included a chilled bottle of rosé in an ice bucket with two flutes, a thoughtfully designed Valentine's card, and a single red rose, adding a romantic touch. A delicate glass-encased rose-shaped dessert sat alongside a welcome note, showcasing the hotel’s attention to detail and luxury. This thoughtful gesture set the perfect tone for our romantic getaway, making us feel truly pampered from the moment we arrived.

The Grand Deluxe bedroom on the 6th floor was the perfect blend of comfort and luxury, offering everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The room was spacious and beautifully designed, featuring a pleasant colour palette, elegant soft furnishing, and modern artwork that added a touch of sophistication. The king-size bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep, while the beautifully designed bathroom (with Penhaligon's toiletries) made every moment feel indulgent. Thoughtful touches like complimentary fresh milk and mineral water added to the premium experience.

The modern amenities made our stay even more enjoyable. The UHD smart TV with Chromecast allowed us to unwind with our favourite shows, while the fast Wi-Fi kept us connected. The coffee maker with pods was perfect for a morning pick-me-up, and the in-room yoga mat provided a unique wellness touch. Practical features like a personal safe, hair dryer and ironing facilities ensured convenience, making the room feel like a luxurious home away from home.

Isaac’s is the New York-style brasserie located within The Grand Hotel Birmingham, offering a stylish yet relaxed dining experience. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and bold flavours, Isaac’s serves a menu inspired by classic American dishes with a modern twist. From indulgent comfort food to beautifully presented plates, it’s a great spot for a romantic dinner or a special meal during a stay at the hotel.  

Isaac’s chic décor, featuring plush seating and an intimate setting, adds to the luxurious feel of The Grand Hotel and the restaurant delivers both in terms of ambience and flavour.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Isaac’s, where the food was delicious and the service was excellent. We enjoyed crispy nachos, creamy mac & cheese with oyster mushrooms, hazelnut doughnuts and a rich billionaire cookie — all packed with flavour and beautifully presented. The staff were attentive without being too pushy, making us feel welcome and well cared for.

The restaurant was full, a clear sign of its great food and top-notch service, and the lively atmosphere added to the charm of our meal.

Waking up in the comfort of The Grand Hotel Birmingham, feeling completely rested after a lovely night’s sleep, was the perfect way to start our day. To make it even more special, we were treated to a champagne breakfast in bed as a part of the Valentine’s package making it a truly romantic experience. The beautifully presented tray arrived with a selection of delicious dishes, setting the tone for a slow, indulgent morning.

We enjoyed a vegan breakfast, smashed edamame, and perfectly poached eggs on sourdough bread, paired with freshly brewed coffee and a glass of champagne each. Sipping on bubbly while enjoying our meal in the cosy elegance of our room made for an unforgettable moment—one of those little luxuries that turn a getaway into something truly special.
