We love visiting Birmingham for its unique experiences and this time, it was for a fabulous Mama Mia-themed brunch at Luna Springs. This event was the perfect mix of music, laughter and indulgence, proving once again that Birmingham knows how to throw a party.

Luna Springs is located in the heart of Digbeth, an area that’s become a cultural hotspot in recent years. With its street art, independent businesses and cool venues, Digbeth has an edgy vibe we love. It’s the perfect backdrop for events like this. Walking through its colourful streets always feels like an adventure, and it’s no wonder so many unique experiences are based here.

Luna Springs: The Perfect Venue for Quirky Fun

Luna Springs itself is a gem in Birmingham’s entertainment scene. This open-air venue has a relaxed, fun vibe and hosts all kinds of events, from themed brunches to live music nights. It’s a place where you can enjoy good food, great drinks and fantastic entertainment under one roof—or rather, under the stars, if the weather allows! 

The Mama Mia event took place under a heated marquee, making it comfortable and cosy despite the chilly December weather. It created the perfect atmosphere for relaxing and enjoying the lively entertainment.

Mama Mia Brunch: A Feast of Food, Fun and Fabulousness

The Mama Mia-themed brunch was pure joy from start to finish. We spent two hours being serenaded by talented drag queens performing iconic songs like 'Dancing Queen', 'Money, Money, Money', 'Voulez-Vous' and more from the musical. The energy was electric and everyone was singing and dancing along. 

Brunch included 90 minutes of bottomless spritz cocktails—think Porn Star Spritz, Gin Fizz and Aperol Spritz—plus prosecco and beer. This added to the festive vibe and ensured everyone was in high spirits. The food spread was equally delightful with options including: Pornstar Munch Box, Katsu Munch Box, Gochujang Buffalo Munch Box, Vegan Jackfruit Wings and Turkey Much Box to choose from. 

I chose the Vegan Jackfruit Munch box and it was absolutely delicious. The staff were also fantastic, staying attentive and topping up our drinks as needed, which added to the overall enjoyment of the experience.

The combination of amazing performers, great drinks and a lively crowd made this event one of our most memorable Birmingham experiences.

It was a fantastic way to spend a weekend afternoon. We enjoyed it!
