Enjoy a delicious Cuban-inspired afternoon tea at Revolución de Cuba
Revolución de Cuba is a chain of Cuban-inspired bars and restaurants with several venues across the United Kingdom. With a vibrant atmosphere based on a Cuban theme, these bars and restaurants aim to provide a lively and enjoyable Cuban-inspired experience for their patrons. A couple of months back we had been to one of their cocktail making masterclass in Birmingham and had thoroughly enjoyed the experience. So, when we were in the process of planning a day out in Birmingham recently, we decided to book a delicious Cuban-inspired afternoon tea for two to make it a indulgent day out.

Revolución de Cuba's delectable afternoon tea is available at all their locations across the UK. We booked our experience at their Birmingham venue. The booking process was very simple and everything was done via email. We gave our dietary requirements at the time of booking and the team made sure that we had a great experience.Revolución de Cuba's Birmingham venue is nestled on Temple Street, a short walk away from New Street station. Spread over two floors, this is Birmingham’s own little corner of Cuba and is a great place to enjoy Latin-inspired flavours all day long.
The Cuban-inspired afternoon tea added a flavourful, South American-inspired twist to the classic British tradition. An array of tapas dishes, including croquetas and quesadillas, alongside sweet treats like pastel del nata, chocolate brownies, and churros and a bottle of prosecco made this an unique afternoon tea experience.
We had opted for the vegetarian version of the afternoon tea and got to enjoy the following:
- Spicy Fried Chicken - a crispy plant based chicken, served with rum sauce and pickled chillies.
- Spiced Black Bean & Feta Empanadas - South American style fried pasties filled with spiced black beans and feta.
- Pan Con Tomate - lightly toasted sourdough topped with tomatoes, garlic and extra virigin olive oil.
- Patatas Bravas - fried potatoes, with spicy tomato sauce and aïoli.
- Plantain & Feta Tacos - soft flour and corn tortillas filled with lettuce, pickled red cabbage, coriander, plantain and feta.
- Churros with chocolate sauce.
- Pastel de Nata - a flaky, buttery pastry crust filled with a rich custard.
- Chocolate Brownie
All the items were beautifully presented allowing us to savour the experience gradually. The bottle of prosecco enhanced the experience. Light and crisp, it made a refreshing and versatile choice to pair with both the savoury and sweet elements of the afternoon tea. Both Bhavin and myself enjoyed all the treats with the Plantain & Feta Tacos and the Churros being my favourites. Infact, there was nothing on the menu that was not delicious! The ambience was lovely and the service was also excellent. We enjoyed the experience as a whole.
You can book the Cuban-inspired afternoon tea either directly with Revolución de Cuba or if you want to gift the experience to a loved one, you can book the experience via Buyagift.
