Hackney Wick Street Art

London is known for its amazing street art. From pieces of work by upcoming artists to popular street artists like Stik, Frankie Strand and Sweet Toof, the city is dotted with street art, murals and graffiti. Artists come from far and wide to paint London's walls and those interested in art travel to the city to see and admire it. You will find street art and graffiti almost everywhere in London but there are some selected spots where you can spot some really stunning pieces like Leake Street Tunnel, Shoreditch & Brick Lane, Camden, Walthamstow, Bethnal Green and Hackney Wick.

Located in east London, close to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, is Hackney Wick. The once thriving industrial area is now home to a large number of artists, musicians and other creatives. The artistic population has given the area a very cool & funky vibe and the street art scene is thriving.

Once out of the station, you can either head right, down White Post Lane which will take you towards the Lord Napier pub. It is hard to miss it as the building is covered entirely in art. Not just the exteriors, even the inside of the pub is covered in graffiti and art.

Alternately, head straight out of the station towards Hub67 (the community centre) and then turn left down White Post Lane, walking down to the river and Crate Brewery. There is street art everywhere.

Because of the transient nature of street art, you may not spot the same art works as seen in this post, but this popular mode of artistic expression is here to remain in Hackney Wick.
