A London Staycation with BuyAGift
We love travelling and exploring new places. But we love a good staycation equally. Staycations are easy; there is no hassle of currency exchange or the mad rush to the airport or waiting for luggage at the airport luggage carousel. And when you live close to one of the world's most visited cities - London - the idea of a staycation is always welcome.
Buyagift who are one of the UK’s leading providers of experience days offer a number of great short break deals. From seaside breaks in Cornwall to country breaks in Cumbria to city centre getaways in London and Manchester, and much more, they have something to suit every taste and budget. We recently enjoyed a delightful staycation in London using one of Buyagift's short break experiences - Two Night Escape at H10 London Waterloo. Included in the experience was two nights’ accommodation for two and full English breakfast both mornings.
Buying and redeeming a Buyagift experience voucher is very easy and simple. Once you have picked & purchased your short break, you are sent a voucher either by post or by email. We opted for email as its quicker and greener than post. And then all you need to do is, log on to the Buyagift website, enter the voucher details and contact the holiday provider. In our case, it was H10 London Waterloo, who were quick to respond and booked us in on our requested date. As simple as that.
The H10 London Waterloo boasts of an excellent location. It is located near the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and the London Eye and is a short walk away from Lambeth North station (Bakerloo line) and Waterloo station (Jubilee, Bakerloo, Northern lines). This close proximity to train stations and popular tourist attractions make the H10 London Waterloo a perfect base for a dreamy London staycation.
Designed for both business and leisure travellers, the H10 London Waterloo has 177 bright and modern rooms, which are equipped with all the amenities one could need for a comfortable stay. The room types include a standard double room, deluxe double room, double room city view, double room London Eye and the Junior Suite. We stayed in a standard double room - it was spacious, well-designed, clean and comfortable. Amenities in the room included a Queen size bed, minibar, TV with international channels, complimentary Wi-Fi, air conditioning with thermostat, complimentary safe box, iron and ironing board, writing desk and a kettle with tea making facilities. The bathroom was clean, had a rain shower system and amenities that included Earth Collection toiletries, a professional hairdryer, cosmetic mirror and weighing scales.
Overall, a well furnished and comfortable room. And it was peaceful and quiet which meant that we got a good nights’ sleep. And in the mornings we enjoyed one of the best breakfast selections we’ve ever seen.
There are a number of venues to enjoy food/drinks at the H10. Located on the eighth floor of the hotel is the Waterloo Sky Bar which has a terrace with fabulous views of the London skyline. The Circus Bar is located in the hotel lobby where you can enjoy drinks and light dishes. On the first floor is the Circus Lounge which serves cocktails and snacks.
Three O Two is the hotel's modern restaurant which specialises in Mediterranean gastronomy with a Spanish touch. Breakfast is also served here and it was fantastic. What an impressive spread! A selection of fruits & yoghurts, bread, cold meats, cheeses, full English Continental, a variety of crudités, sweet treats, a fresh fruit juice station and much more. After a good nights' sleep, a delicious and hearty breakfast was what we needed and what the hotel delivered. Refuelled, we were ready for the day - exploring the festive markets of London.
The hotel's central location makes it ideal to explore London. The London Eye, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and the Westminster Abbey all are a short walk away. We visited during the last week of November and London was already getting into the Christmas spirit with a number of winter markets and we managed to visit a couple of them - Christmas by the River and Southbank's Christmas Market.
We had a lovely stay at the H10 London Waterloo. The hotel is modern, well-furnished, the beds in the bedrooms are very comfortable meaning you are sure to enjoy a lovely nights' sleep, the breakfast service is excellent and the staff friendly. A lovely hotel for a London trip.
The two-night escape at H10 London Waterloo is priced at £299 and can be purchased from www.buyagift.co.uk The experience is for 2 people, is valid for 10 months from the date of purchase and BuyAGift offer a 'Best Price Guarantee'.
