When it comes to a good rain jacket, there are two main things that we look at - being waterproof and the ability to regulate temperature so that the wearer doesn't sweat too much. And that is why we liked the Storm Signal Jacket. It is fully seam-taped and waterproof and has laser cut armpit vents that regulate temperature making it breathable.
The Storm Signal Jacket has
a new engineered six-panel hood that is adjustable at three points for optimal coverage and peripheral visibility. It also has a two-way centre front zipper with storm flap cover that locks out the weather. An adjustable, bottom hem and extra length in the tail and arms offers additional coverage and protection in the drop areas.
There is sufficient storage space as well in the form of a zipped chest pocket and two zipped hand pockets - perfect to safely store any outdoor essentials. Reflective accents have been incorporated to keep the wearer visible while out in low light or during night time excursions. The hood is nice and deserves a mention too. It has a two-way adjustable design that cinches both vertically and laterally for an ideal fit. The 'classic' fit of the jacket is sort of form-fitting but it doesn't take away from the comfort factor. Bhavin did not find fit of the jacket restrictive. According to him, while comfort, fit and style are personal preferences, Chrome seem to have taken everything into consideration and come up with a well-rounded, functional rain jacket that has been designed for the outdoors.
Overall, we liked the simple, clean design of the jacket. It is definitely a 'form meets function' design as Chrome say. And it even packs down to a small size. We feel that the Storm Signal jacket is a great option both for urban commute and outdoor trips.
You can check out the entire Chrome range at chromeindustries.com or at specialist retailers like Velorution and Brick Lane Bikes. The Storm Jacket is available in sizes XS – XXL (for men) and comes in two colours Castle Rock or Lead (featured).
