Hexton Folding Travel Sunglasses | Perfect for the Travel Kit
An important item of any travel kit, irrespective of the destination you are heading to, is a good pair of sunglasses. Sunglasses are not just for the summers or for that beach holiday, they are also vital if you are heading to the mountains (at higher altitudes the UV rays are stronger) or plan to enjoy skiing (sun’s reflection off the snow is much brighter than normal) or anytime you are outdoors. Prolonged exposure to the sun (in any weather) can increase your risk of experiencing vision troubles. And that is where a good pair of sunglasses makes their need felt. So, don't forget those sunglasses! And if you are worried about damaging your expensive sunglasses or find it cumbersome to carry the large cases, then folding sunglasses are the best option for you.
Hexton is an independent sunglasses brand from London. Inspired by London’s style and innovation sensibilities they took some of the timeless eyewear silhouettes and added a unique five-hinge folding design to make stylish and functional folding sunglasses that can be worn in any situation - on the beach, at work, lounging by the pool, out fishing or in any social setting.
Hexton sunglasses come in five different, stylish designs and all of them have:
We have been using Hexton Sunglasses (Leyton Tortoiseshell, a compact take on a classic style and Sloane Gloss Black, a unisex rounded style) over the last few weeks and have found them to be an excellent combination of classic design with modern practicality. The sunglasses come in black and brown tortoiseshell and incorporate Hexton's unique five-hinge folding design that makes them compact and easy to store. The hinges and fixings are made with industrial grade aluminium which means the glasses fold easily without the need for too much pressure. A small, portable protective case and a microfiber, cleaning cloth are provided with each purchase.
We weren't sure how these sunglasses would look with the folding/unfolding but I have to admit that we were pleasantly surprised. You cannot tell that these sunglasses are collapsible. They look just like normal sunglasses. And the classic design can flatter any face shape!
What about the quality I hear you ask?
While the sunglasses score well on the style front, they do very well in the quality department too.
The lenses also have a balanced filter that reduces glare and protects the eyes. The sunglasses are comfortable to wear. The frame is snug but not too tight. And because they feature reinforced polycarbonate frames, the sunglasses are surprisingly light-weight. So you can wear them for long periods of time without worrying about that annoying pain behind the ears that accompanies some sunglasses.
To sum it up, we liked the sunglasses. If you need a protective, comfortable pair of sunglasses that are solidly constructed, offer UV protection, are pleasant to wear and score well on price and value, then these Hexton folding sunglasses are for you. If you are a traveller who is always on the move, then you are going to love these sunglasses even more because of their compact design which makes them easy to carry.
