Photo Story : Bristol
Bristol is a city famous for its maritime history and there is so much waiting to be discovered. We recently visited Bristol for the first time and loved its unique personality. It has a range of attractions, a number of museums and art galleries, many green spaces, a friendly vibe and a very happening street art scene. It is also an excellent base for exploring the south west of England.
Most popular attractions in Bristol are located in Central Bristol and easily walkable. As such exploring the city on foot makes sense. Alternately, you could hire a cycle and make use of the city's bike paths and routes. Some of the attractions that you should not miss in Bristol are Bristol Museum and Art Gallery, Brunel's ss Great Britain, M Shed (tells the story of the city), Clifton Suspension Bridge, Clifton Downs and Observatory (a lovely place for a picnic), Bristol Cathedral, Cabot Tower and Castle Park.
A trip on one of Bristol's (Hop-on Hop-off) ferry boats is a fun way to get to the harbourside attractions. And for those interested in street art, searching out and photographing all of the murals and street art in Bristol can fill up your itinerary for days! The art adorns alleys, buildings, underpasses and just about anything. It is incredible. You can do it on your own, at your own pace while exploring the city or join one of the many street art tours. Whatever you decide to see and do in Bristol, I think the city will not fail to impress you.
What are those colorful buildings in the first pic?
ReplyDeleteThose colourful rows of homes, overlooking Bristol Harbour, are located in Southernhay Crescent/Clifton Wood area. Lovely to look at and photographed by most visitors!
