KEEN Footwear | Terradora Ethos for Women
Early in the year, I was sent KEEN's Terradora Ethos shoes. These are a part of the KEEN Spring/Summer 2018 collection and are now available to purchase from their website. KEEN describe the Terradora Ethos as an open-air, water adaptable, warm climate shoe. Lightweight and breathable, the Terradora Ethos is essentially a warm-weather version of KEEN's TrailFit hiking shoe.
While I did not test these shoes in warm weather, I can give you my feedback on the construction and comfort levels of the shoe. I have put the shoes to use on our local walking trails and during a few countryside walks (with varying surfaces) and found them to be comfortable on all terrains.
Technical specifications of the Terradora Ethos
- Women-specific, lightweight shoe (approximate weight per shoe is 248g)
- Cleansport NXT™ for natural odour control
- 4mm multi-directional lugs
- Dual-density PU footbed
- ESS stability shank for support
- Low-density EVA midsole and non-marking rubber outsole
- Quick-dry materials
- Secure fit lace capture system
- Synthetic leather upper
Technical specifications aside, the shoes themselves are cosy and comfortable to wear. The fit is excellent and the open-air design (which means better breathability) would be perfect for warm-weather, outdoor pursuits. I wore the shoes with a pair of socks and it was a snug fit. Without the socks, the shoes would still offer a secure fit thanks to the lace capture system that ensures a glove-like fit.
The Terradora Ethos has been constructed in response to the individual biomechanics of the female foot. And in my opinion, it works because the range of motion and comfort level in the shoes is excellent. The fit is perfect and the shoes feel really comfortable. I have walked a number of miles in these shoes and the grip and stability are good even on undulating countryside terrains.
The shoe has a PFC free, durable water repellent upper featuring synthetic leather overlays for structure and protection. The inner lining is quick dry with Cleansport NXT ™ treatment that ensures feet smell and feel fresh. I think these features make the Ethos perfect for Summer adventures that involve water.
I will update this article with my thoughts on my summer use of the Ethos. As of now, I am very much impressed with the shoes. They are lightweight, sporty and very comfortable all around. They look great too and are perfect for outdoor adventures as well as for city sightseeing.
The KEEN Terradora Ethos is priced reasonably at £84.99 and is available in three colours: Grape Wine/Grape Kiss (featured), Neutral Grey/Gargoyle and Mulch/Blue Turquoise.

We were sent the shoes for purposes of this article. All opinions, as always, remain our own.
