ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words, Ruth. I hope you make it to the Azores this year!
DeleteBeautiful photos! I especially like the one showcasing the scenic roads. Love the flowers on either side!
ReplyDeleteThe Azores is known for its Hydrangeas. In mid-summer Hydrangea bushes pop all over the island and along every other road. The colourful blooms are a feast for the eyes.
DeleteSold! I'd love to visit the Azores. Your brilliant photos of the lush green landscapes and gushing waterfalls have definitely convinced me that these islands should be on my travel list. Thanks for the inspiration #farawayfiles
ReplyDeleteThank you, Katy. It is a very beautiful group of islands and just around 4 hours from London.
DeleteIt's so lush! Wow. I love the all the green and wild hydrangeas? I'm sold. My favorite flowers! I don't know much about the Azores - thank you for sharing with #FarawayFiles, welcome to our Travel Blog Community! Cheers from Copenhagen, Erin
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, Erin.
DeleteThe Azores is beautiful all round the year but if you want to see the wild Hydrangeas in full bloom then the best time to visit is July - August.
Take me to the Azores now! What stunning photos! Dying to visit...#farawayfiles
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I are visiting in September 18. Any suggestions on musts?? We are staying near Furnas
ReplyDeleteI would recommend that you hire a car to explore the island as it will offer more flexibility and allow you to visit places that you may miss otherwise. My top picks would be the main lakes (Sete Cidades, Lake Fogo and the lake in Furnas), Terra Nostra Botanical gardens, Mosteiros(for its beach and stunning cliffs), whale watching and Parque Natural da Ribeira dos Caldeiroes (especially the hike through the woods). There are numerous 'miradouros' (view points) all over the island and you are sure to find stunning views whichever route you take. We also liked some of the beaches in Ribeira Grande.
DeleteWishing you a wonderful holiday to the Azores.
