Airport Guide: Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (Hyderabad, India)
Rajiv Gandhi International (RGI) Airport in Hyderabad recently won the 1st place for Best Airport by Size (5-15 mppa) Asia category at the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) awards. These awards are based on passengers’ satisfaction whilst they are travelling through an airport and having travelled through the RGI airport many times, I can safely say that the award was well deserved. While not anywhere as big or booming like some of the popular and busy airports in the world, the RGI airport is coming along nicely.
The airport has 92 check-in counters and 24 self-check-in kiosks and was the first Indian airport to install the four level in-line baggage handling system. Facilities at the airport include a Plaza Premium lounge where passengers can relax before or after a flight, a medical centre with a 24-hour pharmacy and 17-beds and well-trained doctors/paramedics available 24x7, prayer rooms, exclusive smoking lounges, spa facility, baggage wrap and porter services, duty free shopping and a number of other shops and eateries.

For the foodies, you can pick from Barista, Café Espresso, Idly Factory, Monsoon Bar & Kitchen, Taste of India or Tiffin Express.
The airport also has a holistic spa - Tosa Spa - which offers body treatments, facials and massage treatments. If you have a few hours to while away at the airport, then a treatment at the Tosa spa is a lovely way to relax and rejuvenate before your journey.

If you are transiting via Rajiv Gandhi International Airport Hyderabad then you have a number of options when it comes to eating or shopping. In addition to the duty-free shop, there are many other shops at the airport ranging from jewellery (Hyderabadi Bangles & Jewellery, Krishna Pearls & Jewellers, Swarovski) to apparel (United Colors of Benetton, The Chennai Silks, Lacoste, W ' Womens wear) and from sweet treats (Almond House, Karachi Bakery) to handicrafts (Anuva Handicrafts, LePakshi).
