The Greenwich Foot Tunnel in London (A walk under the Thames)
The Greenwich Foot tunnel built in 1902 is a pedestrian tunnel that links Cutty Sark (Greenwich) to Island Gardens (Isle of Dogs). The tunnel project started in 1899 and was completed and opened to public in August 1902.

The tunnel is 1217 feet long and 50 feet deep and the internal diameter is around 9 feet. The interiors are lined with white glazed tiles. The tunnel was damaged due to bombing during the second World War.
The tunnel runs under the River Thames and because of its depth it remains cool even on sunny day.The tunnel is open 24 hours a day as it is a public highway. There is a lift service and stairs to take you to tunnel.
